🩸 Gang Rules
These rules exist to make gang/organized crime RP immersive and fair. They balance freedom to create stories with protections for civilians and law enforcement. Use common sense; staff may act on behavior that breaks the spirit of RP even if not explicitly listed.
Scope Applies to any organized criminal group (gangs, biker clubs, syndicates, cartels, mafias, etc.).
1) Creation & Approval
Concept & Application
- All gangs require staff approval before claiming a name, turf, or colors.
- Submit a short concept: backstory, goals, preferred crimes, and RP style.
- Minimum active members (suggested): 5. Leaders must be active and reachable.
Examples: “Blaine County Riders” (biker smuggling ring) = clear concept. “We shoot everyone in the city” = not a concept.
Leadership & Responsibility
- Leaders are accountable for members’ conduct; they must help de-escalate and coach.
- Gangs must maintain a roster (Discord thread or form) for staff reference.
2) Identity: Name, Colors, Symbols
Uniqueness & Lore
- Names must be original/lore-friendly; avoid real-world hate groups and copyrighted logos.
- Colors/patches/hand signs are fine if they don’t violate community standards.
Examples: “Los Santos Serpents” = OK. Real extremist org names/symbols = Not OK.
3) Membership & Recruitment
How to Recruit
- Recruit in-game through RP; no OOC pressure, pay-to-join, or spam DMs.
- Initiations should be story-driven, not instant hazing or forced violence.
Examples: A low-risk “job” to test trust = OK. Kidnapping randoms and branding them = Not OK.
Alt Characters & Poaching
- Alts in multiple gangs are discouraged and may be restricted by staff.
- Don’t poach members mid-arc; negotiate IC or wait for an exit RP.
4) Turf & Operations
Claiming & Disputes
- Turf claims are soft-power (influence), not KOS zones.
- Markings (graffiti, presence) and business fronts are encouraged for immersion.
- Disputes should create RP: negotiations, sabotage, small skirmishes, then escalate if needed.
Examples: Tag-over wars and intimidation RP = Good. “Shoot on sight in our turf” = Not allowed.
Blocking Content
- You may influence, tax, or compete—but you cannot lock the entire server out of a criminal loop.
- Monopolies are story beats, not permanent rights; staff may rebalance.
5) Escalation, Retaliation & Wars
Escalation Ladder
- Words/gestures → vandalism/sabotage → fistfights → limited armed hits → open warfare (staff oversight).
- Cool-downs are expected after major violence; do not chain nonstop shootouts.
Examples: Tagging a rival’s wall after an insult = OK. “Shooting on sight forever” = Not OK.
Declaring a War
- Large-scale conflict (multiple hits, citywide shootouts, mass kidnappings) requires staff approval and clear win/stop conditions.
- Both sides must keep logs/clips and attempt diplomacy at least once.
6) Interactions with Civilians
Respect for Non-Combatants
- Civilians are story fuel, not targets to farm. Crimes need context and purpose.
- Limit random robberies; avoid repeatedly targeting the same players.
Examples: Protection rackets with persuasion = OK. Robbing the same new fisherman every restart = Not OK.
7) Interactions with Law Enforcement
Balanced Play
- Create room for dialogue, negotiations, and surrenders when appropriate.
- Ambushes and assassinations of LEOs require strong IC motive and measured frequency.
Examples: Planned heist with hostage talks = Good RP. Daily courthouse massacres = Not OK.
Corruption & Inside Help
- Corrupt LEO arcs require prior staff approval with strict boundaries.
8) Rackets, Economy & Weapons
Rackets & Money
- Run believable operations (drugs, weapons, theft rings, fraud) with logistics RP.
- No AFK farms or exploit-based economies; risk should scale with reward.
Weapons Policy
- Heavy weapons should be rare and event/arc driven. Stockpiles without RP are subject to seizure.
- Arms dealing is fine with paper trails (notes, meetings, drop spots).
9) Vehicles & Pursuits
Realistic Use
- Follow the main server vehicle rules: class-appropriate driving, crashes have consequences, no VDM.
- Plan escapes with drivers/routes; don’t rely on indestructible stunt spam.
Examples: Switch cars, misdirection, decoys = Good. Roof-jumping supercars across downtown every chase = Not OK.
10) Hostages & Kidnapping
Serious Stakes
- Use hostages sparingly and negotiate in good faith; treat them as people, not props.
- Execution of compliant hostages is almost never acceptable and may be overturned by staff.
Examples: Safe passage/time demands = OK. Edgelord instant executions for memes = Not OK.
11) New Player & Safe-Zone Protections
Protected Areas & Players
- Hospitals, PD lobbies, and active staff scenes are soft safe-zones—no baiting or violence.
- New players get extra grace: teach and recruit with RP, don’t farm them.
Examples: Recruiting a newbie mechanic via jobs = OK. Robbing the same day-one repeatedly = Not OK.
12) Strikes, Reporting & Disband
Enforcement Framework
- Strike 1: Formal warning + coaching with leader.
- Strike 2: Temporary restrictions (no heavy weapons/raids/wars) + probation.
- Strike 3: Disband or leadership change at staff discretion.
- Severe incidents may skip steps.
Reporting & Evidence
- Use the ticket system with short clips/logs. Leaders should help resolve fast.
- Do not start witch-hunts on social channels.
Final Word: Gangs exist to create stories for the whole server. If a choice gives you a quick “win” but ruins RP for others, choose the path that makes the best scene instead.
